Meerlust Tasting & Sales

Long recognized for producing world-class wines, Meerlust Estate has been the pride of the Myburgh family since 1756.

Today, the traditional dedication to the art of winemaking continues under the guidance of Hannes Myburgh, eighth-generation custodian of this seventeen-century national monument.

On visiting the Estate, make sure you join Heidi in the Meerlust wine shop. Here you will be able to enjoy a relaxed tasting of our full range of wines. The wine shop boasts a photographic timeline of both the history of Meerlust and the history of the Cape.

Tasting Options

Standard Tasting

We offer a tasting of our full range of wines, including the Rubicon, at R75pp, which is refundable per person who purchasing.
R75 per person
Groups larger than 10 are required to make a reservation.

Seated Private Tasting

Our Private Tasting is hosted by our Wine Specialist in our private, seated tasting room. It includes our full range of current vintage wines, as well as an older vintage of Rubicon and one of our other Estate wines, these are served in Riedel varietal range glassware.

Directions

Directions from Cape Town

Take the N2 out of Cape Town following signs for Cape Town International Airport. You will go past the airport. Stay on the N2 now following directions towards Somerset West. Turn off the N2 at Exit 33 (Baden Powell Drive, R310 - Stellenbosch)

Turn left off the exit in the direction of Stellenbosch. Meerlust is situated on the right hand side, 3 kms from the exit. There is a large dam with a windmill on the right hand side just before the Meerlust turn-off.

Directions from Stellenbosch

Take the R44 out of Stellenbosch following signs for Somerset West/Strand. Just after Audacia, which is on the left hand side, turn right onto the Lynedoch/Annandale Road. If you drive past the Mooiberge Strawberry Farm stall (which is on the R44) you have gone too far and have missed the Annandale Road turnoff.

Keep on the Annandale Road until you reach the traffic lights at the Baden Powell Drive intersection. Turn left onto the Baden Powell Drive - R310. Continue for 4 kms. Our turnoff is on the left side just before a large dam; look out for an avenue of trees. If you drive past the large dam with a windmill in it, you have gone too far.
