There are two very special people at Meerlust who have played a significant role to the team at Compagniesdrift since its inception 12 years ago.

The Albertus is a very limited edition late-harvest style delicious sweetie, beautifully packaged, and honours the two mentors, Albertus Nicolaas de Waal (aka Albie) and Johann Albert Reinecke Myburgh (aka Hannes) who have been instrumental to the growth and development of Compagniesdrift and its people.

Well done to winemaker Altus Treurnicht; “The wine, a beautiful golden straw colour, is unique in the sense that different vintages were aged in barrel and in tank and it was blended to produce this natural sweet wine from a single vineyard plant” said winemaker Altus Treurnicht.

The lovely launch was held at a very personal event on 17 November at their facility near Stellenbosch. Such a beautiful setting to mark the moment.
